Blast from the Past!

Heather (Amberg) Anderson is between David & I. All our families went to St.Mark's Lutheran Church growing up. Heather went to different schools than I did until high school and then we were lab partners two years in a row in biology and chem. (we were a good team too)
David & I have stayed in touch via Christmas cards with Heather's parents, but we'd lost direct contact with Heather around 25 years ago.
She travels a lot for her business and thru facebook we are re-connected so when she came to town this week we got together. She was at the house last night after soccer for a couple hours.
Great to catch up!
I put these sunflowers in a very short vase, so had to tie them, but like the effect.

a couple months ago Marina & I found these pumpkin lights... finally put them out with some "fall" decor.

yummy nibblies!

Had a friend from high school (and even earlier, really) over tonight -haven't seen her for 25 years! it was 7:30 pm, so too late for a dinner, but this is part of what I served... it was yummy!
I especially enjoyed the proscuito wrapped parmesan sticks, the pickled hot & spice green beans, the roasted garlic, roasted tomatoes and soft cheese on bread... oh! and the cajun spiced pecans... it was delish!

In with the new...

New workout equipment...
All the boys are excited, and started their new training routines already after school today.
Remnants of the old "office/art studio"... not sure how all that will work, but stay tuned....
My computer is now on a tiny desk in a corner of our Master bedroom. Works fine.

First Day of School

Marina was 1st out the door at 7:05. Cheer captains dictated what they had to wear. Sophomores started at 7:30 (normal time).

Ryker left an hour later - the Jr. class got to start an hour after the Sophomores.

Jordan got to sleep in - didn't leave till almost 11:00 a.m. At his school, the7th graders get their orientation for a few hours before the "upper class men" like Jordan (8th grade) get there. I woke Jordan up way early, so I could get his picture before leaving for work. He took the bus to school with all his neighbor buddies.

Now tonight we will hear about their schedules, teachers, which friends they see or don't see, etc., etc. Here we go again!

Football - Scrimmage 8/28

Last Friday, the football team played and the cheer/dance teams also practiced their half-time routines and some sideline stuff. It was a fun couple of hours.

Go Eastlake!

Ha Ha! This was Marina's "goofy" jump during today's photo shoot for the cheer team. I took about 50 other 'side' shots while the pro photographer was doing his thing. I'll post most of them on my Facebook page.

Kendyll off to London!

My niece, Dar's oldest daughter, is headed to Richmond University outside of London ENGLAND! Dar will fly over there with her next week to get her settled in. Don't know when we'll see her back here, but 4 of our family of 5 went up last weekend for a BBQ to squeeze in a bit of Kendyll time before she leaves. I think this is a nice pic of them both.
Kendyll (18), Madison (15), Marina (15), Ryker (16) & Delaney (10 1/2)

She's BAACK!

Sammie, back at the Oldenburg's "Hotel for Dogs", in her favorite spot on top of my sofa!
"Patrick" has seen better days!

Moka is depressed and annoyed. haha!
Mufasa is resting... he will romp out in the back yard with Sammie when we let them. She come up to about his arm-pit - it's pretty funny!
p.s. Where's Biscuit?.... she snuck upstairs to avoid the whole ordeal. She'll play outside later, otherwise chooses to disengage.

Summer Fun

EHS Cheerleaders @ camp with some of their many trophies! Marina is front, right - this is one of their casual uniforms. The "other" girl is a coach from UCA Universal Cheerleaders Assoc.
Cole, Ryker, David the counselor, and two other Issaquah guys who went to Malibu.
Another Malibu pic
"Not-Black" Sharon and Dar (my sister) I nabbed this off Sharon's FB profile! It's cute. They were in Hawaii together - yes, I am jealous!

More Doggie Fun

Sammi sitting on David's neck while he's doing computer work -she was also scoping out the backyard.
Good Close-up!
Marina decided to let Sammi loose......
Moka is not happy about that... chase scene across the top of the sofa. Ha ha!

House Guest

Sam (Samantha Boswell) is our house guest for the next week! We just introduced her to Mufasa, Moka & Biscuit. Sammi was slightly afraid of Mufasa, Moka was afraid of Sam, then Biscuit "the Alpha" came on the scene with hair raised in challenge mode, right when Mufasa thought it would be fun to play 'chase' and it was pretty crazy for a few seconds.
No one has bared teeth or snapped, so all is good.
This is David making 'peace' with everyone - looks like he's the orchestra director and Moka is doing her solo. Sam sits politely to watch... Mufasa just wants to play chase some more!

July - Summer Fun

Kickin' Butt @ tournament - Jzo in Black

Dar, Kevin & Delaney came to see 1/2 a game on July 5th - Delaney was on her way to camp that day!
We were warned via text msg. that the next morning the veteran Cheerleaders were coming to kidnap the newbies at 7:30 a.m. - it was alarming... they were in masks, costumes, dark clothes and stealth-like rushed up to Marina's room, threw off her covers and grabbed her. A few hours later they dropped her back home. Took them to breakfast in Redmond. FUN!
Rachel & Marina during Bocce Ball game against the boys.
Paul (the pizza chef) & AJ - official fire/oven helper @ Caldarrazzo's Cucina - fun night!
Moka
July 24th - backyard fire-pit

June Happenings

Jzo is playing on the "Sammamish Pilots" baseball team this year. David is coaching too. Handsome player & pretty good 2nd base/center fielder too!

Mom, Tina, Karen, Vickie & Kari
at "Save the Girls" fundraiser fashion show for Susan G. Komen foundation.
Mom was here visiting between Dar's house and my house for 2 weeks... it was great! This was one of our activities while she was here. (this photo was actually on a radio station website)

Happy 15! (more)

David & Marina
Marina & Me
The brothers being weird - lemon slice smiles... boys, boys, boys...
Marina & Me! (yeah, I was that tired)
6:45 a.m. got a couple gifts before school! New sandals got worn that day!
We post-poned her b-day dinner because on the 2nd, she had class pictures for dance.
This is Tess and Marina in their Jazz costumes posing by their joint school project for Leadership class - they did a toy drive at the dance studio, so while we were there we snapped their photo by the collection box!
Rachel (my friend GinaSue's daughter) & Marina in their Hip Hop costumes.
Eye's closed, but pretty ballerinas in their Pointe costumes for the "Six Fairies Variations" number.
We carpooled to the studio that evening - this ballet costume was the first class photo they shot that night. (chugg, chugg)
Happy Birthday, pretty girl- we love you!
This week Marina turned 15! This chocolate cake was amazing... we had our family b-day dinner @ Pogacha in Issaquah, lots of laughs with the 5 of us. More pictures soon!
