Molezilla?

At work one day, I found an advertisement postcard stuck on the front door, grabbed it to toss, and upon the first glance I said to myself, "gosh, that person looks like Gina!.... she even has shoes like those..." I flipped over the card and ....
OMG! It IS GINA! (aka Susan)
While reading the text blocks, I quickly picked up the phone to call her and ask about her 'new business'

HA HA HA!
It was the "April Fools" joke played on her by her friend Rachel. Gina actually DID help Rachel get rid of a mole a while back. Sneaky Rachel took some photos. Waiting for the perfect time to utilize the photos, she tweaked a few thing (the ad on the van in background) and in my opinion, wrote really terrific copy and created an INCREDIBLE prank.
I wonder how many calls "Sue" has gotten for her services?

The License...

Today after Ryker's swim practice, we got to go back to the D.O.L. to get his driver's license officially processed. He'd already passed the tests, but he had to wait till his b-day, and yesterday on that day, they were closed.
Looking good behind the wheel. This is the 2002 Honda Accord we bought as the 3rd "family car"... not a gift to Ryker, but for now - he has the priveledge of driving it.

Bye Mom!
oh man... this is harder than I expected. Trying not to think about it.

"Carol" Painting

In Feb. '09, I finished this painting for my mom, Carol.
Also included are initials for her two daughters, Darlene & Tina plus her 6 grandkids: Kendyll, Ryker, Madison, Marina, Jordan & Delaney.
This was done on an art panel which she plans to frame.

Boswell Painting

30x40
The latest installment of my series of "typography/initials" paintings.
This is for my friend Marcia's family. It's Marcia, her hubby Jay, son Tyler and daughter Kristina. Last name: Boswell. Oh! we put an "m" and an "s" in there too for their dogs.
I was pleased with the introduction of the stamped initials on both the background of the painting, but also wrapped around the sides in gold. There are a lot of metallic paints in this one, and also a Micaceous Iron Oxide on a couple of the bold letters. I like testing new paints!

Happy 16th Ryker!

Today Ryker is 16!
David & I can't believe how fast the time has passed... we are very proud of our oldest child who is growing up to be a very nice young man!
p.s. look at that smile... braces came off this month too!

Last night we invited Alison over to share in Ryker's birthday meal (French Toast) and have cake with us (devil's food with homemade vanilla frosting). She gifted him with a couple fun games, which is great, cuz they are probably getting bored with our games cupboard!

Stop laughing at the candle... it was all I could find in a pinch. Along with Easter napkins and polka-dot plates... you can tell for Ryker it's about the food, not the presentation!

Seattle Mariner's Safeco Field

Our studio director choreographs for the Seattle Mariner's Field Crew "dancers" (they do a funny routine while they sweep/rake the dirt during 7th inning stretch) and this year they asked her to choreograph and privide performers for a routine to be part of the "Opening Day" pre-game show. Marina was one of 36 girls who danced with the Mariner Moose.
They had just 2 rehearsals w/in the last 2 weeks to prep, and then a dress rehearsal at the field on Monday... Game Day was yesterday, April 14th.
Here are someof her friends:
Tess, Natalie, Jacqueline, (Marina), Rachel & Megan (?)
This isn't a great photo, but their t-shirts were pink "Mariners" shirts with GRIFFEY and his #24 on the back!

Looks like they are worshipping the Moose in this pic!

That's Marina, 2nd from left - it was hard to get photos from up in the stadium!
Lots of fun - the Mariners sent a chartered bus to our studio to pick the group up, and then delivered us back afterward - most of us couldn't get tickets to the game, as it sold out in something like 55 minutes! Seattle is hyped about Griffey being back with the team, and they are having a good start so far!

"Idol Girls" Gathering #1

Sunday, Dar's family came down to celebrate Easter with us for the afternoon. I suggested that our "idol" friends Gina & Mad come over too - since they'd not all met each other (I'm the common link). There are actually 8 of us total in our 2009 American Idol "Idol Girls" groupies/email-chat group... the other 4 live out of state!
Gina (Susan Caldarazzo), Mad (Madeleine Mizrahi), Tina & Dar (Darlene)
Couldn't resist putting in a couple of my "reject pics" - the shot above looks like Mad & Dar are singing to Gina... and she doesn't like it! This one looks like we ate/drank our way thru the afternoon, but that's Martinelli's Cider in that bottle... okay - truth - we did eat & drink our share... yummy!

Next "Idol Girls" gathering we need Kellybrie, Wicked-Jules, Linda "Nielson" and NB-Sharon to come up to Seattle to join the fun! We missed you!
now... this week's "A.I." is starting... have to go watch!
