Plumber?

This week David got the job of replacing our broken kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. So much nicer looking at his "assistant" than some stranger's "plumber behind"! Good news - both new appliances are working quite nicely.

A week on Maui... so fun!

first day... starved from travel - Hard Rock in Lahaina - yum!
Jordan became quite the skim-boarder... till blood flowed, slowing him down a bit. (ocean view from our condo in Kahana)
hunting snorkel-beaches.. the bay below is "Honolua Bay" - beautiful

took a rock climb/descent further north
By the Ritz...
in Lahaina being goofy
there he goes again - diff beach
one day, the 4 snorkelers rented wet suits so they could stay out there even longer... so many fish and turtles! guess we need to get that water camera developed soon! Kapalua Bay was a favorite.
Whaler's Village, K'aanapali - little turtle duo tatt (dad not too happy that the sales girl handed the job over to a guy who popped out of nowhere to do the 'art')
boys went first, but Marina & I parasailed 800 ft. it was peaceful and fun!
we got a nice family pic here too - but saving that as possible Christmas card photo... secret! this was our little "hike" at Ioa Valley St. Park (I think it was a state park... can't remember) once we went off-trail we had a fun hike.
our private beach @ Kahana Sunset - this time Ryker taking a turn with the board, David tried it too!
"Mom, we can't see, the sun is too bright!"
this was on the America II speed sailing adventure - very fun... this was prior to everyone on board getting completely soaked in the giant swells we sailed thru.
about 16 people on board, but our three got the primo seats on the more calm waters as we headed back to the marina after the 2 hour adventure.
on our last evening, we went looking for the blow hole on the north shore... it was super windy up there... Jordan was pointing out his scarred up knee from his skim-board accident.
All in all, it was a fabulous trip and a rare week for the 5 of us to hangout together. Pretty much 1st and last time all year it's been just the 5 of us. We are so grateful for the family time and recognize it's one of the last before our oldest heads off to college.

May 2010

Ryker & a friend made the base-masks for an art project they have this quarter. They laid on the kitchen counter while Alison and I layed the dripping casting strips over their faces. a rare occasion that Ryker was actually quiet.
Titan - this was around the 3 month stage.

Jordan got creative one morning after breakfast.

Memorial weekend... David & Jordan's baseball team had 8am games both Sat. and Sunday, so one morning while I was the only one up/home, I made myself some crispy fried potatoes with cheesy eggs. Yum!

After tackling memory canvases in March/April for the Senior Cheerleaders - my friend Jill & I decided we are going to make them for Marina & Natalie too. This is how it starts... messing with layout and determining what photos to use.

Memorial Weekend buzz-cut, compliments of Alison out in our garage. She looks happier than he does, but it was his idea. Turned out pretty good!
I was none too happy to discover that Moka had a 'hey-day' out in the fresh manure/top soil David put out in one of the plant-beds. She was then less than happy when I gave her a cold bath with the hose outside. Stinky... what could I do? Look and Titan & Mufasa, they weren't sure who it was at our back door.
Relax time at the end of the Memorial Weekend.... tonight we will go to Agave for Marina's requested "family birthday dinner"-a couple nights early, as this is a busy week. Agave, YUM!
Titan is going on 4 months now... this a.m. he weighed in at 3lbs, 2 oz.

Marina & Fish

Feb 13th 2010, our niece Stephanie Marino became Mrs. Tilley - married to Mark, a great guy!

A friend building her photography business took pics of Marina at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle.

Easter 2010 - the "turtle pick"... Grandma Jan did the picking for Kendyll who's still away at school in London.

1 of the 5 memory collages I created for the Senior Cheerleaders given to them at the annual banquet 4-8-2010. I worked on them for 5 weeks.

2010 Cheer team - end of season banquet. (Marina is 3rd from left.)

Sophomores & their moms.

RANDOM - yummy homemade pizza I made one night!

Easter cousins (Grandma Jan sitting in for Kendyll)

3 of the 5 memory collages... we asked what color was their favorite v. using school colors.

oops! blurry - Marina made Jordan a custom brownie on his 14th b-day!

Mufasa & Titan - Titan at 9 weeks, Mufasa almost 9 years.

a rare peaceful moment.

Catching Up!

I'm way behind with keeping my blog up to date... I do like the format and privacy better with the blog than with facebook, but it's easy to upload photos to FB and as you'll soon see - a bit difficult on this (hard to change their order!)
The above pic was taken by my sister when we met up in Seattle to watch the Macy's Day Parade.... Marina's cheer team marched in it - it was COLD morning! (day after Thanksgiving!)

Ryker took Alison to the Woodland Park Zoo recently... they seemed to have fun!

Marina decorated a friend's car to ask him to his school's "Tolo" dance - she's also going to her school's tolo, 3 weeks later with a different friend.

It's Basketball season and Marina's "buddies" are girls on the Varsity team.
Treats every Friday game.

We had a great holiday season, my mom, "Granma Carol" visited my and Dar's families for 2 weeks!

Mom & Kendyll (home from London)

Cousins on Christmas!

Dar's mother-in-law, Jan Pickard, organized a fun Christmas gift game!
Marina in the parade (see the problem with uploading?)... 2nd from right - smirking!

Halloween with Kelsey L.

Grandpa Dick visited for Thanksgiving... there was a varsity bball exhibition he got to watch so he saw Marina in uniform.
