Moka (Shih Tzu mix - 9 months), Biscuit ( Mini Dashaund - 3 1/2) & Mufasa (Leonberger - 6 years)
It's so quiet in the house this a.m., Jzo slept over at a friend's house, (David & I took the opportunity to watch an "R" movie, more on that...) the dogs have crashed now after their wild chase of each other a bit ago, and so here I am. It's peaceful, but weird at the same time. I keep expecting to hear someone come downstairs and ask "what's for breakfast?"
Okay, do movie makers decide if they are going to get the "R" rating, they should just make it as grossly violent as they possibly can? We saw an FBI/hit man/mafia themed movie (we should have known...) and it was action packed, what David is always hoping, had lots of big name actors, but was really disturbing at the same time. I had to watch part of a Seinfeld re-run before going to bed to clear my mind of the awfully graphic 'special' effects. Oh well, it's still nice to be able to choose any movie we want and not have to consider if it's appropriate for the kids or not.
Here's the almost final version of my latest project - it will get a 4" sq. mirror in the middle. I actually started this one a couple years ago, so it's fun to see it "in color".

This is one of my designs, a 12" sq. wood framed "mirror", etched (wood burner), painted and added to this one are iron hooks, so it could be used near an entry for keys, hat, scarves, or light bags. It's "Welcome" in 3 languages. Not sure if I want to sell this, or keep it for myself!

Okay - now the real comment! I love the new mirror/weclome sign.
I hope I'll be able to check into your blog often and that when I do, there will be updates on y'all.
Good luck with the organization. As usual, if you discover THAT secret to life, pass it on :-)
Dar,
thanks for commenting!
Are you getting stormy weather due to the advancing hurricane toward Hawaii?
Tina, your little dogs are cute, and such a variety of shapes and sizes. They have catchy names too. Who chose them? Very cute.
Your welcome art piece is so pretty. I like the little black tab-like things on the one side and am impressed by the wood-burning effect.
The movie. I made a decision about five years ago or more, that with all the choices of things to fill my brain with, I no longer wanted to put garbage in it, so I swore off R movies and haven't regretted it since. Who needs all that when there are so many other lovely choices to enlighten us? I'm glad you at least tried to replace the awful images with Seinfeld eps. Good move.
The dog names...
Mufasa is from "Lion King" as his breed is supposed to be the lion of the dog kingdom. David thought of it.
Biscuit is Marina's dog, and she named her.
Moka is Jordan's dog (but I consider her mine) and he came up with that, trying to think of something that seem sort of Hawaiian, she has tan spots on one side, so the color is sort of 'mocha' too - pure coincidence!
I think you should show your whole cute face instead of half of it. It's a cute half, but add the rest, and you'll be doubly delightful. I know it's an artistic shot, but I like the full Tina mug. Just my .02 cents.
